Broodfokkers ...

Stop broodfokkers!

MHSV club match

Monday was the day the club match was held in Maastricht (Vilt) and the second show Qannik of Nikolatsjka had to walk (and myself for that matter) ;)

Out of more then 40 dogs Qannik managed to make 6th ... not a bad result at all (being only 4 months old).
Congratulations are in order for the winner and all the competitors - specialy Davy Visschers with his Tshi-zu Diego who made first place.

A full set of pictures from the evening can be found at: webshots.

A big thanks is due for Ron (Nikolatsjka - Landgraaf) for the tips he gave me, also I need to thank the people of the "Maastrichtse Hondensport Sport Vereniging - MSHV" for the training I received so far. I'm looking forward in continuing the training there .. together with Galink d'Abajomy.

Dog handling

As you have read in my previous posts ... we got a new husky "Qannik" (www.siberianhuskiesnikolatsjka.nl/) to add there I have to say that also Galinka joined in our home. Galinka (http://www.abajomy.be/) is a brown female husky and plans are to go into showing the dogs on dog shows.

Qannik already had his first show yesterday at the International Dog Show (http://www.lkv-dogshow.be.tt)- in Genk near to our place, Qannik still only at 4 months has to enter the dog shows as a "baby" dog for now. But he did his best and won his first show (being a baby doesn't really have a real meaning at the time - but winning is nevertheless what we plan to do when entering the ring) ;).

Qannik wil do his second show on monday (clubmatch) in Vilt(NL) .. so keeping my fingers crossed for that one (probly for the next ones also) ;)

Marijke and Qannik
Leaving our daughter in Gent yesterday ...

Sending your kids to school when they are small is one of the hardest things you have to do as a parent, usually this is done by the mother when they are young.
Now when going to high school it's another story ... and the father is actually more involved into this process. Marijke ... our second daughter (18 yrs) decided a short while ago that she wanted to go to high school in Gent.
With such short notice it was very hard to get everything ready in time. Even now today when she's doing here first day at school there we need to take care of some things.

Drifting off ... well on Saturday I drove up to Gent to take here bicycle and a small freezer over to Gent. A good thing that there was another guy in the building to help me take the freezer up to here room.
On Sunday we drove up (the wife, Marijke, Sarah and me) to Gent to do some final things at here room. Hanging the curtains, cleaning up on the bathroom and toilet, doing some rough cleaning in the small yard etc.
After that we went out for a short drink and some food.
Now that that was all done we had to leave for home, leaving Marijke back in Gent on here own. I can imagine what mothers have been going through when taking their kids to kindergarten, felt like I had to leave a part of me behind. Both the wife and me had a hard time driving away from here, and I can imagine she's having a hard time too. Still have the urge to pick up the phone and call here every x time. Bad idea to do I think ... She needs to focus on here school stuff and calling back and forth would only make it harder I think.
Anyway ... hope you're doing alright Marijke, we all support you from home and wish you all the best and luck for the future.

Qannik revival ...

After Qannik died we decided to look for a new pup and took our time to hunt for some Husky breeders. After visiting a few of them we made our choice and 2 breeders were selected were we wanted to buy our new puppie(s) from.
Our luck couldn't be any better when the first breeder told us that the first puppies were due in a few weeks, second luck was that we could choose a name starting with Q, with some brainstorming we decided to take the name Qannik back in use, this way we could extend our luck that we had with our previous dog (if only for 5 days).
While typing this entry the second breeder informed us of the nest that is being born at this very moment. Although this time we have to wait untill we can be sure that there will be a puppy left. As quite a few are already reserved.
Anyway ... this is our new litle bugger Qannik.

Another departure ...

Seems that all I do these days is saying goodbye to a lot of close friends.
After Gerard came ZETA, and now I have to say goodbye to Qannik.

Qannik is/was a Siberian Husky, we only got him last Friday, and he stole our harts from the very first day. The wife found the add for him online and we called right away to see if that pup was still around there.

Qannik, we searched a long time just to find you, and we waited a long time before even making that step to get a new dog (even though the daughters already had their dogs), you fitted right in and played with the other dogs as if they were family.

We will miss you all in the house here Qannik, I can't even say how empty the place feels without you now.

Rest in peace Qannik!!! (ps .. love you always)

PS. thnx Larissa for the image and words.

ZETA's Future ...

Need to write some stuff down otherwise I'm going made :P

With all the recent discussions that are being held I don't get that people who take a lead part of a firm, like Acces and Magnussoft go public with all there announcements.

If they would let the lawyers handle the stuff and started talking to each other instead of going public on (in the meantime) quiet a few public forums, news sites. I'm still a strong believer in ZETA, and if things were so illegal as they state it is, then I don't get why JLG had a meeting with Bernd a few years back, why would they let it last so long etc etc ... to many why's that don't add up to the way they act at the moment.

If things clear out and those people are standing on the wrong side of the street all there announcements can backfire on them.

I'm in favor in handling this in a private serene matter that perhaps solves the issues even faster then pointing fingers on public sites. No one benefits from speculations now.
